The weekend were you can fish for free in Missouri is just a month away.

Free Fishing Weekend in Missouri Is Just a Month Away

According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri residents can enjoy Free Fishing Days on the first weekend in June—Saturday and Sunday, June 7th and 8th. On these days, you can fish without needing an MDC fishing permit, trout permit, or prescribed area daily tag.

But there’s a catch.

Some county, city, and private fishing areas may still require a permit, so be sure to check local regulations before you cast your line. So, make sure before you head out to an area, you know where it's safe to fish that weekend.

The best part? Many of these areas provide all the gear you need, so don’t feel like you have to go out and buy a $100 fishing pole. However, it’s a good idea to check ahead to make sure gear is available. Since this is one of the busiest weekends for fishing, you definitely won’t be the only one looking to take advantage of the free weekend.
