January 11 – St. Dominic will be having their annual trivia night on Saturday January 11 starting at 5:30. They will have a variety of questions with lots of sound clips, enjoy their nacho bar or bring your own snacks.  Tables up to 10 players. BYOB

January 14 - The Rebel Pig will host the 2020 Relay For Life of Marion County Kickoff.  From 6 - 9 pm, The Rebel Pig will donate a portion of the proceeds to Relay For Life.  The first 100 diners will receive a cheesecake dessert, compliments of the American Cancer Society. This event is open to the public and information on how to join a team, start a team, donate or become a sponsor will be available.

January 16 - Meals on Wheels is holding a Cook’s Night Off event on the third Thursday of the month throughout 2019. It’s a fundraiser for the Meals on Wheels program as they offer eat-in, carry-out, or drive thru meals for just $7 each.  All meals include either Fried Chicken or Roast Beef, two side dishes, bread and dessert.  The hours for each 3rd Thursday of each month are 4 to 6pm at the Senior Center at 639 York Street.

January 24 - The Palmyra First Christian Church will host their10th Annual Prom Dress Resale January 24th and 25th.  The sale will be held at the Zion Lutheran School basement, 120 S Spring St. Palmyra MO. Dresses to sell can be brought to the school Wed. Jan. 22, Thurs. Jan. 23, and Fri. Jan. 24th between 6:00 and 8:00 pm.  A $10 registration fee is charged to sell dresses.  To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of our Prom Dress Resale we will have drawings for prizes Questions--contact Nancy Goellner 573-470-0861

January 25 – St. Joseph’s Catholic Church will be holding a Trivia and Silent Auction on Saturday January 25th starting at 5:30 pm. All proceeds benefit the youth Catholic Heart Work Camp trip. $20 per individual or $160 per table. For more information contact Lucy Mewes 217-430-5800

January 25 - The Quincy Notre Dame Music Trivia Night will be held on Saturday, January 25th at St. Peter's School Gym in Quincy. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the event will start at 7:00 p.m. $100 per table of eight. Reservations will be confirmed when payment is received. Proceeds will provide support for the QND Music Department.

January 25 - The 16th Annual Wing Ding will be Saturday January 25th! Break out the flapper dresses, cuffed trousers and jump in your model T for a roaring good time at The Great Wingsby! The Wing Ding will be at the Admiral Coontz Armory (301 Warren Barrett Dr- Hannibal, MO). Doors open at 11:00 am, wings served at 1:00 pm and the games begin at 2 pm. Entry is $5.00 per person, must be 21 or older. This year’s theme is The Great Wingsby! There will be plenty wings and giggle water. This year proceeds will benefit Wonderland Camp.

 January 25 - The Hull Lions Club will hold their Annual Pancake & Sausage Day on Saturday, January 25th at the Hull Lions Club Building from 6:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  There will be all you can eat fresh pancakes and sausage. Adults: $7.00, Children 6-11 years: $3.00, Children 5 & Under: Free.

January 26 – Make plant to attend Eagle Days, a winter gathering that celebrates the American Bald Eagle, on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 10 am-5 pm and Sunday, Jan. 26 from 10 am-4 pm at the Oakley-Lindsay Center. Admission is $5 for those 11 and over, $3 for adults over 60, free for children 10 and under.

February 1 - The Loraine Lions Club proudly sponsors the Crossroad Country Opry on the first Saturday of the month thru May 2020. Show time is 7:00 p.m. at the Unity High School in Mendon, Illinois. February 1 – The Quincy Regional Crime Stoppers will host a TV Trivia Night at the Quincy Holiday Inn on Saturday, February 1. Only $15 per person - teams minimum of 4/maximum of 8. February 2 - American Business Women's Association (ABWA) is sponsoring a Mardi Gras Dance. Appetizers provided, and a cash bar will be available. Advance tickets are $25.00 each or $175.00 for a reserved table of 8. Tickets can be purchased at the Elks Lodge, Liberty Bank-4134 Broadway, Wellman Florist-11th & Broadway and 1624 Highland Ln., Something Borrowed Wedding & Event Rental-727 Hampshire or from any ABWA member or at the door. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Blessing Breast Center. Entertainment provided by "Raised on Radio" and Fabulous Faces" will be painting festive body art. Cardinals Tickets Raffle for 4 Regular Season Tickets (Row 17 behind home plate) to a game of your choice. Winner drawn the night of the dance. Winner need not be present to win. February 29 – The 22nd Annual Y101 Bridal Expo Saturday, February 29 at The Ambiance in Quincy. This free event is open to the public for anyone planning a wedding. The event will open 12 pm and go until 3 pm. There will be several door prizes, the Cake Dive, and a cash bar available.

TFN - For those dealing with Alzheimer ’s disease in their family a new concept called the Memory Café is being established in Quincy. The Memory Café is a new “spin” on support groups whereby people suffering from Alzheimer’s and their caregiver are welcomed in a social setting. This gathering leads to the development of friendships, acceptance and interaction with others in a similar situation. The local Memory Café will be held every 2nd Wednesday of each month at 2 p.m. at the Quincy Senior Center at 639 York Street in Quincy.
