November 28 - The Quincy Salvation Army will serve a free Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28 from 11am – 1pm at The Salvation Army Kroc Center located at 405 Vermont Street. The community is invited to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner complete with turkey and all the trimmings. For those needing a ride, transportation will be provided to The Kroc Center. Meals will also be delivered to shut-ins, limit two per household. For more information, transportation, or meal delivery, contact The Salvation Army Kroc Center at 217-231-5626.

November 30 - Step back in time and enjoy holidays of old in historic downtown Hannibal's Victorian Festival of Christmas! Magical sights and sounds will transport you back more than a century to the wonder and enchantment of a traditional holiday celebration. Carolers, warm greetings and beautifully decorated storefronts will get you into the holiday spirit. Fun for the whole family, we hope you will join us during this most wonderful time of the year!

December 5 - Santa & Mrs. Claus will be at St. Vincent's Home.  Bring the kids or pets to get a picture with them Cookies and Hot Chocolate! Digital photo emailed with a $5 donation or a toy. Proceeds and toys will go to Toys for Tots!

December 5 - Put your Christmas knowledge to the test! Join us for this year's Christmas Treevia event on Sunday, December 8, at The Kroc Center. Doors will open at 12:30pm with the event set to begin at 1:30pm. The cost to enter is $10 per person. Teams can be comprised of up to eight players The registration deadline is Thursday, Dec. 5.

December 7 – Canton R-V’s Holiday Bazzar & Craft show will take place in the school gym. All proceeds from this event will go to help the Canton R-V Music Department.  Admission to this event is $3.00 and children 10 and under are free.  There will be concessions and Santa will be here from 11am-1pm.

December 7 – The Bear Creek American Legion Post 823 will be holding Pancake and Sausage Breakfast on December 7th from 7 am – 11am. Adults are $8, Children 5-10 are $5, and 5-under eat free. The breakfast will be held at the American Legion Hall in Mendon, IL. There will also be a cash raffle drawing at 11 am, for raffle tickets contact an American Legion member.

December 10 - The Alzheimer’s Association will be host a Community Forum on Tuesday, December 10th from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at the Salvation Army Kroc Center. During this event, you will learn more about Alzheimer's and dementia and be given the opportunity to share your thoughts on how we can help people in this community. December 13 - John Wood Community College Cheer and Dance Camp. Let the JWCC Cheerleaders and Blazerette Dance team entertain your little ones while you enjoy an evening out or do some Christmas shopping. Students aged 3-14 are invited to a holiday cheer and dance camp at JWCC on Friday, December 13th. During the holiday-themed camp, students will learn a fun cheer and a jazzy Christmas routine. Campers will enjoy a pizza dinner. Registrations received by December 5th are guaranteed a campT-shirt. Campers are invited to show off their camp routines in a performance at the John Wood Men’s Basketball game on Saturday, December 14th at 3:00 p.m. Campers can even come early to visit with Santa and take photos before the game!!

December 19 - Meals on Wheels is holding a Cook’s Night Off event on the third Thursday of the month throughout 2019. It’s a fundraiser for the Meals on Wheels program as they offer eat-in, carry-out, or drive thru meals for just $7 each.  All meals include either Fried Chicken or Roast Beef, two side dishes, bread and dessert.  The hours for each 3rd Thursday of each month are 4 to 6pm at the Senior Center at 639 York Street.
