Several people witnessed the fireball fall from the sky last night and now we are getting video of the event. The fireball was seen across five states the majority in Northwest Illinois, and the American Meteor Society website went crazy as reports were coming in.

Some witnesses saw just a flash of the fireball, others just as it was passing over them, but one witness was lucky enough to catch the whole thing on her car dashcam. Lucky for us she shared the video for everyone to see.

Sadly, no one in the immediate Tri-State area saw this fireball fall, but you might want to check your Ring Camera. You never know what you are going to find on those overnight videos. There have been other fireballs that have passed over Missouri and Illinois so far this year. If you do have a video of anything falling from the sky make sure you report it to the AMS website so that they can track it.

LOOK: What 25 Historic Battlefields Look Like Today

The following is an examination of what became of the sites where America waged its most important and often most brutal campaigns of war. Using a variety of sources, Stacker selected 25 historically significant battlefields in American history. For each one, Stacker investigated what happened there when the battles raged as well as what became of those hallowed grounds when the fighting stopped.

These are the battlefields that defined the United States military’s journey from upstart Colonial rebels to an invincible global war machine.
