Which County in Illinois has Hunted the Most Deer so far?

The numbers are starting to trickle in for the first weekend of firearm season in the Land of Lincoln and there are many counties that have already harvested over 1,000 deer, but who is in the lead so far...?

According to News Channel 20, there have been over 53,000 deer harvested so far in Illinois during the first weekend of firearm season. In the article, they say...

"Hunters in Illinois harvested a preliminary total of 53,348 deer during the first weekend of the Illinois firearm deer season between Nov. 17-19. Comparatively, hunters took 52,354 deer during the first firearm weekend in 2022. Illinois seven-day firearm deer season will conclude Nov. 30-Dec. 3."

So far Randolph County is the leading county when it comes to deer harvested through the first weekend with 1,506 deer, followed by Adams County with 1,423, and Jackson with 1,371. To see the full list of the number of deer harvested so far in Illinois, click here!

Locally Adams County has a chance to pass Randolph County as the top county in the Land of Lincoln. This area is prime deer hunting land, and it isn't surprising to me to see Adams near the top along with Randolph County. If you don't know, I didn't know, Randolph County is located south of St. Louis and is home to towns like Chester, Sparta, Steeleville, and Evansville.
