Top 5 Snacks for Super Bowl per Missouri Grocer
Should you be invited to a Super party and haven’t had time to plan out something extra, it’s okay. You are in good company. Many have been out getting ready for Sunday’s showdown and grabbing game day staples.
Courtesy of the Harps Foods in Jackson, Mo. are the top five selling snacks leading up to the game. Any one of these would be welcome at any gathering you attend.

#1 Chips and dip. Easy peasy. You just have to decide which chips and what dip to pair with them. If you decide to go with potato chips make sure your dip is something creamy. Should you choose corn chips grab a mild (or medium at best) heat level of salsa. The middle ground for either would be guacamole or a cheese dip. Those would work for both.
#2 Pizza. Remember this isn’t about you. Unless your gonna grab multiple pies stay away from things that will make others frown, yes I’m looking at you Hawaiian pizza – I love you, but Many don’t. Keep it basic: Cheese, pepperoni, sausage. And win.

#3 Bone in wings. Again, be mindful of the sauce. Depending on how many wings you bring, the more you bring the more variety of sauce you’ll want to provide. Good rule of thumb is “by the dozen”. You get a dozen wings- get one sauce and make it ranch. You go for two dozen wings you can add a second sauce. Odds are the host will have extra ranch at the house should you run out, Play it safe.
#4 Hot dogs. Make sure you have the right number buns. This is a condiment commitment move. You’ll need mustard and relish (let the host provide ketchup), You’ll need to make sure you have enough condiments to make it through each serving. Don’t short it. Concerning level 2 condiments like chopped onions, cheese or chili. The mess level increases exponentially. If the host is okay with potential spills and stains then go for it. If there’s a question, stick with level one condiments.
#5 Cookies and Cake. These surprised me, but maybe they shouldn’t have. Sweets can be a nice balance for the savory. Chocolate chip cookies are the safe play here. If you feel frisky get a mixed tray. Cake? Keep it simple cowboy.
Follow these guidelines and you’ll get invited to more gatherings. Of course you could always go rogue and bring grape juice, a giant barrel of cheese puffs and squeezy cheese and see where that leads.
