Kansas City Flavors

Kansas City BBQ sauce is an easy addition to almost anything to bring the flavor of the defending champs. Find a Kansas City BBQ you like. There are mass-produced ones labeled “KC Style”, and that’s fine. But if you want to flex authenticity, you should find a bottle of Gates, Joe’s Kansas City, or Jack Stack.

Get a few and taste for yourself. That sauce can be used in more places than not. There are recipes for it to be drizzled on Chex Mix (seriously) Pasta Salad, Black Bean and Corn Salad, Chili and Rice. Obviously, you can use it as a dip for ANYTHING. Be brave. Someone has to be.

The easy flavor of Philadelphia would be cream cheese. This easily pairs with veggies and fruits, pretzels, or crackers. You can also use cream cheese on sandwiches in place of mayo. Wanna get wild and cross the streams? Take that spice KC BBQ and mix it with the cream cheese to temper the zing. You may just have the winning flavor of the day.

Philadelphia Flavors

Philly also is known for their legendary cheese steak sandwiches. You don’t have to go full submarine style. You can scale down to mini cheese steak sliders. Work that same cheese steak filling into egg roll wraps for a smaller version still full of Philly flavor. Again, you can keep it authentic, or mix in the KC with a splash of your BBQ sauce.

If you taco bar, twist it up with pulled pork BBQ or brisket and slaw and cheese to rep KC. and your cheese steak mix with meat peppers and cheese. Use that combo of cream cheese and BBQ sauce mix to dip. That's a touchdown!

For your gathering’s beers, just grab a case of Yuengling to represent Pennsylvania and any one of the many beers from Missouri; Budweiser is easy, but to keep it Kansas City, grab a six or two of Boulevard brewing products.

Flavor and style matter if you want to stand apart from everybody else when it comes to party eats. Infusing the flavors of the city/region that the Super teams are from elevates you beyond chips and dip.
