Buildings, roads, businesses, and homes cover most of this massive Missouri city, but it’s what’s underneath that might leave you asking questions.

What Is SubTropolis?

Home to the Kansas City Chiefs, Royals, soccer clubs, and thousands of businesses and homes, Kansas City is one of the largest cities in the Midwest—and one of my favorite places to visit. Is SubTropolis Open to Visitors?

SubTropolis was created as a storage facility, much like the caves here in Quincy are used. I’ve visited Kansas City so many times and knew it was called the “City of Fountains,” but I had no idea there was a massive secret tunnel system beneath the city that’s just as busy as the world above.
