Which Chiefs Jersey are Missouri Fans Wearing?
The Kansas City Chiefs are in a golden era. The Chiefs have been to four of the last five Super Bowls winning three. They are on a quest for an NFL previously unachieved third Super Bowl victory in a row. It’s a magical time to be a Chiefs fan.
You get anywhere near Kansas City or Arrowhead stadium you’ll see many number 15 jerseys Patrick Mahomes is an obvious choice. He’s a 2 time NFL MVP, a three time Super Bowl MVP, six time Pro-Bowler etc. his list of achievements is quite long.
His jersey is also not surprisingly the best seller at the Chiefs store at nflshop.com, for both men and women. Travis Kelce’s number 87 jersey also sells well as the big tight end’s profile has skyrocketed over the last twelve months. He’s arguable on more commercials these days, and oh yeah he’s dating Taylor Swift. Rookie Xavier Worthy’s number 1 is selling very well too.
Kansas City Chiefs fans are loyal and before these glory filled seasons recently, they turned out week after week to support the team. Red Fridays have been going on for at least a couple generations. Meaning that they have sported their Chiefs gear at work and around town every week. Many sport jerseys from their favorite players from the previous eras of traditionally good yet ultimately frustrating football as Kansas City used to have a knack for bowing out of the playoffs before they should.
It’s fun to see the old jerseys still being worn as a sign of devotion for how long Chiefs fans have been on behind the team.
I took a look at the best selling retired Chiefs player’s jerseys at nflshop.com. Here’s what I found:
- LB-Derrick Thomas #58
- QB-Joe Montana #19
- TE-Tony Gonzalez #88
- WR-Dante Hall #82
- QB-Len Dawson #16
- RB-Christian Okoye #35
- RB-Marcus Allen #32
- RB-Priest Holmes #31
- LB- Willie Lanier #63
There are many legendary Chiefs players that aren’t on this list. Many players from the Chiefs “Ring of Honor” aren’t on here. Should you want to show your Chiefs historic loyalty find a jersey from a player that a parent or grandparent enjoyed seeing. That’s one way to feel connected to the past the paved the way for this special time in Chiefs history.
