Most of the exposed igneous rocks of the St. Francois Mountains region are rhyolite rather than granite. Igneous rocks are formed from volcanic activity.
Swimming, Waterfalls, and Natural Beauty
The river’s flow creates natural pools, riffles, and even a few small waterfalls along its path. Visitors can swim in the river if they find the right spot, and those who venture downstream will come across the site of Hahn’s Gristmill, which operated in the 1870s.

This hidden gem may not stay a secret for long; it sounds like a beautiful place to explore, which explains why many locals avoid posting about it on social media. They’d rather keep it tucked away from outsiders.
