When you're making your plans for spring break or vacation think west. St. Louis is a fun and exciting city, Branson has so much year-round, and the Lake of the Ozarks is a party place, but don't forget about Kansas City. There is something for everything in the family, from a baseball game, take in a Chiefs game or soccer. There are a ton of restaurants to try, Worlds of Fun for the kids, and if you like jazz, jazz clubs all over the city. According to CNN Travel, Kansas City is the most underrated destination in Missouri.

Missouri's second largest city is all about sound and flavor. A cradle of American jazz, KC boasts more than 40 venues where you can listen to live jazz, blues and other tunes and probably as many joints offering savory, slow-smoked Kansas City barbecue.

One of the best things to do is to just walk downtown and take in all the sights (and smells) of all of the restaurants around, it's really amazing. Every time we go the family and I have our favorite places we like to visit (Crown Plaza, Lego Land, and Fritz's Train Restaurant, but we also like to try new places too and there are hundreds.

So think about Kansas City the next time you place a trip, I promise you will not be disappointed.
