The travel website Travel Awaits released a list called 12 Things To Do in Vibrant Springfield, Missouri, and I was blown away by the list. I want to start by saying I have never been to Springfield, Missouri, I have never even driven through there, but I had no idea that it was home to some of these cool things. Here are 3 of the things from the list of 12 that encourage me to plan a trip to Springfield.

1.) The Route 66 Car Museum, I love all things Route 66 and I especially love classic cars, so this is right up my alley. On the site, they say this about the museum...

"This unique museum showcases a collection of more than 75 classic, sports, and vintage cars allowing history lovers and car enthusiasts to walk through 100 years of automotive history..."

2.) The Fantastic Caverns, Missouri is known for its caverns and the Fantastic Caverns are a part of that! What I love about the idea of going to these caverns is the Jeep tour, on the site they say...

"Aboard a Jeep-drawn tram, your hour-long tour will take you on a fascinating journey into the depths of the underground cave. As you travel through the cavern, your knowledgeable guide will highlight its unique features and share interesting facts."

3.) The Original Bass Pro Shop, I'm not a huge outdoors person but who doesn't love a Bass Pro Shop?!?

There are a bunch of other cool things to do in Springfield according to this list like the History Museum, the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium, and more! Check out the full list for yourself by clicking here!

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
