3 Incredible Missouri Destinations for Stunning Fall Photos
Now that we've crossed the threshold into November, can we officially say it's the holiday season? No? Okay, well, before we dive into the official "holiday season" (some of us are already there, by the way... hint: it's me), let's enjoy what Mother Nature has in store for us over the next few weeks: fall colors! And there are some incredible places to visit if you're looking to capture that perfect fall photo.
Oranges, bright reds, and even beautiful shades of brown will be on display across the great state of Missouri over the next few weeks. While there are plenty of gorgeous places for the perfect backdrop for family fall photos, here are some of the best spots to visit.
Lover's Leap
With panoramic views of the Mississippi River, Lover's Leap is one of the best places to take in Missouri's fall colors. Enjoy the colorful trees covering the river bluffs, catch a beautiful sunrise or sunset, and watch as the Mississippi River winds its way through the fall landscape. Here's a photo tip: plan your visit around sunset when the golden light hits the river and surrounding hills. It's the perfect opportunity to capture a breathtaking fall photo.
Ha Ha Tonka State Park
This might be one of the most unique photography locations in Missouri. With a historic castle nestled along the trails, panoramic lake views, natural bridges, springs, and incredible rock formations, Ha Ha Tonka is a fall photographer's dream. Try capturing the castle ruins with the colorful fall foliage in the background. The combination of the historic stone structures and vibrant autumn leaves will make your photo look like something you'd find in Europe.
Glade Top Trail – Southern Missouri
If you're looking for wide-open, scenic views, Glade Top Trail is the place to go! With incredible views of the Ozark Mountains, rolling hills covered in colorful fall foliage, and scenery that seems to stretch for miles, this is a must-visit destination. If you enjoy landscape photography, you'll definitely want to add this spot to your fall photo bucket list.
So, while some of us are already decorating for Christmas, others may want to take advantage of everything fall and November have to offer. Get out there, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and snap those pictures before all the gorgeous fall colors are gone.
