What Should We Do With The Best Buy Building?
Best Buy finally closed its doors over the weekend, after 10 years at its Prairie Trail Shopping Center location. Now we have a big empty building sitting there doing nothing. As always, I have some ideas of what we could do with it.
1 - A Stupid, Terrible, Pointless Chick-Fil-A
I'm just getting this out of the way up top, since every single time we do one of these, it's always "CHICK-FIL-A! QUINCY NEEDS A CHICK-FIL-A!" No, we don't. The food isn't that good, and you know it. #TeamPopeyes
2 - A Target
It's in a location Targets tend to exist in, there's ample parking between all the other stores out there. Target is awesome. Better than Chick-Fil-A.
3 - New Movie Theatre
I know what you're thinking, "Brodie, we already have two!" Yeah, but... OK, there are a lot of films that AMC just doesn't bring to Quincy that I have to wait until they're on DVD to finally watch. Even if it's just a two screen indie theatre, that could bring in something other than a big studio blockbuster for once, that would be great.
4 - Condos
I don't know, I'm kinda running out of steam on this. This would be a bad thing to do with it. Let's not do condos. I'm pretty much sold on the idea of Target or the movie theatre.
5 - Prank Future Archaeologists
I proposed this as a thing to do with St. Mary's, we just put a bunch of weird, random crap in there, so in a few hundred years, when 31st century Indiana Jones is digging around in the now ancient ruins of the mighty Quincy civilization, he spends most of his time going, “WTF?! I don’t understand these people at all.”
