An epic drone show is coming to Downtown Hannibal on June 6 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Mark Twain’s famous book, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

Why Hannibal Inspired Mark Twain’s Tom Sawyer

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer was published in 1876 by Hannibal’s own Mark Twain. As many know, Twain used several of Hannibal’s famous landmarks as inspiration while writing the adventurous coming-of-age story about a mischievous young boy. To celebrate the book’s 150th anniversary, the Hannibal Convention & Visitors Bureau is hosting an epic drone show on June 6.

What to Expect at the Downtown Hannibal Drone Show

The community is invited to watch Mark Twain, Tom Sawyer, Becky Thatcher, and more light up the night sky in what promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. It also happens to coincide with America’s 250th birthday celebration, making it an unforgettable night filled with two historic milestones.

Best Places to Watch the Drone Show

The show is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. on June 6, with the drones taking to the sky near Clemens Field. However, attendees are encouraged to set up in Central Park, which has been recommended as one of the best viewing locations for the show.
