According to the website Lawnstarter.com, St. Louis and Kansas City are the number 1 and number 2 Best Barbecue Cities in America. St. Louis gets bragging rights claiming the number 1 spot followed by Kansas City (that will certainly cause some arguments between locals of the two cities), but the website based the rankings on a number of different factors including categories like Most Cooking Teams in the top 25% of the past 3 World BBQ Championships, Most BBQ Festivals, and ratings for local BBQ restaurants. All of this led to St. Louis barely edging out Kansas City.

So what other cities made the top 10? Well, Chicago actually comes in 3rd place on the list mainly because of the accolades of its famous BBQ restaurants, and Springfield, Missouri came in 4th! So how lucky are we here in the Quincy/Hannibal Tri-State area, we have the top 4 highest-rated BBQ cities all within a 4-hour drive or train ride! The rest of the top ten cities consisted of Orlando in 5th, Overland Park, Kansas in 6th, Kansas City, Kansas in 7th, Austin, Texas in 8th, and then Chattanooga, Tennesee, and Houston rounding out the top ten, to see the full list of rankings for yourself just click here!

All this talk about great BBQ as we head into the 4th of July holiday weekend is making my mouth water, if you had to choose one city from this list to get BBQ where would you head?

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
