The more things stay the same, the more they change...or something like that. This principle applies to the weather in both Missouri and Illinois and is proven again as weather forecasters have once again changed their forecast for the region now saying it will be way different than normal for the end of 2023.

There's a new experimental forecast tool from the National Weather Service that predicts a Super El Niño is likely and that could be bad news for snow shovels in both Missouri and Illinois.

I am guilty of complaining to meteorologists about their weather forecasts much too often. In this case, I will not be complaining. There's a new forecast from the weather experts that predicts Missouri's October isn't gonna feel like October at all.

It will feel like we're in one big oven. A meteorologist says that a massive 'heat dome' will position itself over Missouri bringing the Show Me State the hottest temperatures of the year starting late this weekend and carrying over through most of next week.

This is one of those cases where you can legitimately hope that the weather forecasters are right. The Old Farmer's Almanac has looked into the future and they're predicting that Missouri will be much warmer in September and October.

If you haven't already checked in on your air conditioner to make sure it's in good shape, might want to do that now. The forecast for the next couple weeks show that temperatures in Missouri are about to soar into the 90's and don't appear to be cooling down anytime soon.

There's a brand new forecast that claims summer will be the coolest in 6 years. That's great, but before you get excited, know that this doesn't seem to apply to Missouri or Illinois and some other weather experts also don't agree.

This is gonna sound like an old Rodney Dangerfield joke setup, but it's a real thing. How hot was it in Quincy, Illinois this week? Well, I gotta tell you..."It's so hot I saw a dog chasing a cat, and they were both walking." That's an exaggeration, but it was hot enough that Quincy just broke an 81-year-old heat record.

There is one tiny Missouri town that can claim something that very few can. It is the record holder for both the hottest and coldest temperature ever recorded in the Show Me State.

For all of our sakes, hope and pray this study is wrong. The claim is that in the next 30 years Missouri will become a part of what is being referred to as a "Heat Belt" that will see some days reach temperatures of 125 and higher.
