Forecasters Say Missouri’s October Isn’t Gonna Feel Like October

I am guilty of complaining to meteorologists about their weather forecasts much too often. In this case, I will not be complaining. There's a new forecast from the weather experts that predicts Missouri's October isn't gonna feel like October at all.

I saw the National Weather Service in St. Louis mention this also, but there's a trend being forecast for at least the start of October in Missouri. It's a reference to the 8 to 14 day outlook by NOAA's Climate Prediction Center. Check out the expected temperatures for Missouri at the beginning of next month.

To be clear, the red on the map doesn't mean it's gonna be 90 again. It's an indication that Missouri and most of the Midwest can expect a high probability of higher than average temperatures compared to a "normal" October. That "normal" is quoted because we all know there's nothing "normal" about Missouri weather. Truth.

It also appears that October will remain dry for Missouri which isn't great for drought conditions, but is likely a positive thing for farmers that need to get into their fields for harvest.

The dry part isn't that unusual, but the heat for the first part of October will be a new thing as this is normally when we break out the sweatshirts as the chill hits the air. Yes, that day will come and maybe sooner rather than later, but not at the start of October at least.

If there's anything we can be sure of, it's that weather in Missouri will remain unpredictable.
