Quincy Park District

Once again, the Quincy Park District is looking for public input into an idea suggested by Westview Golf Professional Matt Burry. Burry would like to see the last nine holes of the 27-hole Westview Golf Course be eliminated as it is and turned into a Par 3 course with a driving range.

A few weeks ago the Quincy Park District asked for suggestions as to what name the Park District will use for their new park, located on 12 acres of land adjacent to the new Quincy Park District office on Bonansinga Drive.

The Quincy Park District weeks ago announced that they were going to build a new park next to the site of the new offices for the Park District on Bonansinga Drive. With that announcement came the word that the Park District would be soliciting potential names from the public.

Don't forget, the Quincy Park District will host Storytelling by the Campfire on Thursday, October 11.

I tend to remain in a state of denial during this time of year. Sure, I know summer can't last forever. But, when the signs begin to appear that the season is just about over, I play the ostrich. I put my head in the sand and refuse to acknowledge the obvious. Summer is nearly over.

The Adams County Skate Park Movement has been given the thumbs up to build a skate park in Moorman Park from the Quincy Park District.  Now, they just need to raise the funds to get it built.  Now, they have a number of fundraisers in the coming weeks to get the project closer to completion.

We had a great turnout at the Fishing Rodeo Saturday at Moorman Park.
