Spring Break Staycation? Here’s What Missouri Families Are Doing
Sunshine, beaches, pools, and lots of eating are probably what you think about when you think of Spring Break. However, if you can't afford to jump on an airplane or drive down to the beach some places in Missouri are fun to visit for a staycation.
Best Staycation Destinations in Missouri
There are a few places to consider when planning a Spring Break staycation if you don't want to break the bank.
Lake of the Ozarks
Plenty of boating, swimming, putt-putt golf, scenic hiking trails, and shopping. I have not spent a lot of time at the Lake of the Ozarks, but around spring break time it seems a younger crowd goes to the lake and not families. Not saying that families can't go, but just keep that in mind.

Branson
This is the place for families. Silver Dollar City, shows, muesuems, g-carts, zip-lines, and Table Rock Lake. We loved Branson and will probably be back this summer to give Silver Dollar City a try for the first time.

Ha Ha Tonka Park
Take a scenic hike to one of Missouri's most famous castles or through one of the many caves there is not a spot at the Missouri State Park that doesn't have a picturesque view.

Kansas City or St. Louis
Either city has its attractions from museums, to parks, and amusement parks no matter which one you choose you will not be bored. Both have zoos (St. Louis' is free you have to pay for Kansas City), St. Louis has City Museum, Kansas City has Crown Center and both have some of the best BBQ in the state.;
So no matter which part of the state you decide to head you and your family and friends can have the best time at least for a week before you have to come back to reality.
