These Missouri Lakes Belong on Your Summer Bucket List
Let the lake season begin. When it comes to great lakes, Missouri has plenty that deserve a spot on your summer bucket list.
Popular Lakes in Missouri
I’ll be honest, I’m not exactly a lake person. I’ve visited my fair share of lakes over the years, but if I can’t see what’s swimming around in the water with me, I’m probably staying on shore. But for those who love the lake life, you already know Missouri is packed with incredible destinations perfect for a summer getaway.

The Lake of the Ozarks region alone offers several lakeside towns worth exploring. Whether you visit Osage Beach, Lake Ozark, or Camdenton, each community has its own unique attractions, restaurants, and outdoor adventures. The only challenge is deciding which one to experience first.
Table Rock and Northeast Missouri Lakes
Then there’s Table Rock Lake, which stretches across some of southwest Missouri’s most popular destinations, including Branson, Kimberling City, and Shell Knob. Each offers stunning scenery, plenty of entertainment, and endless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.
Of course, here in northeast Missouri, we’re lucky to have one of the state’s favorite recreation spots right in our backyard: Mark Twain Lake. Whether you're boating, fishing, camping, or simply soaking up the sunshine, it’s a summertime tradition for many families in the region.

Which Missouri Lake Is Right for You?
No matter where your travels take you, Missouri has a lake for everyone—from thrill-seekers and watersports enthusiasts to anglers and those who want to kick back, relax, and enjoy a peaceful day on the water.
