After the 2015 Dogwood Festival Parade, I was a part of the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce clean-up crew. There were numerous crews working on Maine Street that day, consisting of members of the Chamber plus student volunteers. Each of them did a wonderful job of bringing Maine Street back to normal.

My responsibility was Maine St. from 24th to 16th. I had several students from Quincy Notre Dame to help me with this task, and they did an AWESOME job.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to (from L-R) Colin Moore, Noah Friye, Megan Crimm, Morgan Lewis, and Ashley Frese.

While working, several people stopped to thank me for cleaning up their street. I directed each of them to go and thank those students. Being it was a Saturday afternoon, they easily could have been doing something other than picking up leftover trash from a parade.

While I am at it, I want to thank their parents for instilling this type of behavior upon them. Nowadays it seems rare to see that kind of conduct amongst our youth.
