You may not have even heard of Kildeer, Illinois. I know I have never heard of it, but it's getting some national recognition for being the smaller richest town in Illinois. GoBankingRates just ranked the top 50 smallest richest towns in each state.

In this study, GOBankingRates analyzed U.S. Census Bureau income data in locations in every state with 500 to 15,000 households to determine the wealthiest small towns in America, and they are ranked here from lowest to highest income.

So Why is Kildeer, Illinois the Richest Town?

According to the experts, Kildeer's median income is $226,375 which makes sense. The town is located just west of Chicago so I am sure you have several people that commute daily and work in the city but don't want to live in the city and travel every day. The town does seem like a good place to live if you don't want to live that "city life."

Where is Kildeer, Illinois?

The Village is located in the southwest corner of Lake County, in Ela Township, 29 miles northwest of Chicago and neighbor to Lake Zurich, Deer Park, Long Grove, Hawthorn Woods, and Barrington.

Seems like a really cute town to live in with lots of nice features including

  •  2,625 acres with 25 plus subdivisions
  • Three highly accredited public school districts and several parochial schools
  • Several Women's Organizations
  • Friendly Community many people want to live in.

Seems like a fun place to live!
