With a new year and many possibly moving you might want to consider this town just outside of Chicago just named the safest in the nation.

Homesnacks reviewed 312 towns/cities in the USA with a population of more than 100,000 and came up with the list of the top 10 safest cities in the nation. For Illinois that town is...

Naperville.

Growing every year and quickly becoming the place you want to live outside Chicago, Naperville is now the top city for being the safest in the nation. With a population of 148,929, the city only had 52 violent crimes and 813 property crimes. It seems like a lot, but compared to the population, it's not that bad.

Welcome to Naperville. One heck of a safe and quiet place. The number of violent and property crimes is just about as low as you can get for a city this big - where you have a 1 in 1,300 chance of being the victim of a major crime.

Seems though as this city grows and grows each year this number might become higher. Now Naperville is not the cheapest to live. Yes, it lands on this list as being the safest, but it's only one of the most expensive towns to live in.

Which makes sense, you have all these "city" folks wanting the city life but not wanting to pay to live in the city so let's settle outside of Chicago and get the best of both worlds. I would do that.
