Missouri Fight Night Gets a Main Event Upgrade
The UFC is bringing their fights to Kansas City later this month (April 26), but the main event of the evening had to be changed when it was announced yesterday that Jamahal Hill suffered a leg injury.

Hill’s bout with Khalil Rountree will be rescheduled at a later date, but in its place the UFC flexed up with Ian Machado Garry taking on Carlos Prates.
While Hill and Rountree is a worthy main event as they both are ranked in the top ten in the Light Heavyweight class, Machado Garry and Prates are also both ranked in the Welterweight class. Machado Garry is ranked #7 at 15-1 and Prates is ranked #13 at 21-6.
Fight fan’s reaction has been positive to the switch. Prates is on fire at the moment rattling off impressive wins and winning four performance bonuses in a row. Machado Garry is coming off his first loss and wants to get back into the conversation about a potential title fight.
The energy around Ian Machado Garry and Carlos Prates is different. It crackles with possibilities. Hill and Rountree will happen. Kansas City gets a bump with this switch.
