Missouri and Illinois Make the Finals of Best NFL Stadium Food
A lot of people like to set up shop in the parking lot and create culinary delights at NFL games across the country. The American tradition of tailgating may have started out as an opportunity to expand on the togetherness time of football games, but it has since evolved into a smorgasbord of grilled/smoked meats and sides.
These days delicious food isn’t just found in the parking lot at NFL games. The fare within stadiums has developed over the years beyond your basic hotdog, burger and nachos.
USA Today has a ten best list for NFL stadium food and both Kansas City and Chicago have made the finals list featuring foods that represent each cities flavor, and you can vote on which one is best.
In Kansas City you immediately think bar-b-que and Arrowhead stadium delivers the taste of KC with SMOAK BBQ’s Big Red sandwich, and also bbq mash-ups like burnt ends and mac-n-cheese, smoked brisket nachos, the KC Cubano and others.
Meanwhile in Chicago the Soldier Field faithful can indulge in windy city delights like Italian beef sandwiches, Chicago-style hot dogs –or- combine them with an Odunze dog (named after rookie receiver Rome Odunze), it’s jalapeno-cheddar dog nestled into Italian beef and topped with giardiniera and a secret sauce..(!!!) Plus, Boka group restaurants are represented too dispensing the flavor of Chicago.
Both Arrowhead and Soldier Field not only embrace signature foods from their cities but also the local restaurants that feature them. They also take traditional stadium food and give it a local twist. These are winning combinations when it comes to dining at the ball game.
