Growing up on the east side of the St. Louis area put me in proximity of many St. Louis delicacies. Imo’s pizza, toasted ravioli and St. Paul sandwiches were regularly enjoyed. I also got introduced to the amazing sweet carbonated beverage Peach Nehi at a friend’s house. His grandparents could get it cheap at the old Granite City Army Depot. Peach Nehi has always had a special place on my childhood taste buds.

Of all the Nehi flavors, peach was always my favorite.

Occasionally you can find a twelve pack locally, and when I see it, I grab some. Perhaps though I need to make plans to get to Osceola, Missouri to sample my memories applied to something that I never even imagined (even though I probably should have). At Scott’s Iconium near Osceola they whip up the Peach fuzzy. Peach Nehi ice cream float….(!!!)

This makes perfect sense. Like peaches and cream, these two derivatives should complement each other magnificently. Peach Nehi and vanilla ice cream. I’d get a half dozen to go, but I don’t think they hold for the drive back. Some things are meant to be enjoyed in a particular location.

Scott’s Iconium doesn’t just serve up the Peach fuzzy. They also have a beloved pizza that has been made in house for many years. Ice cream, pizza, a snack shop and a full-on general store. This general store is east of Osceola proper and southwest of Warsaw, Missouri, surrounded by Truman Lake. If Peach Nehi holds a special place in your heart, a road trip to Scott’s Iconium is in order.
