Missouri Highway Patrol Chases Down a Pet Turtle on the Run
It's not easy being a law enforcement officer. You just never know what challenges you're going to face each day. Today, the Missouri Highway Patrol had an unexpected encounter as they were forced to chase down a pet turtle on the run.
This interesting dilemma was explained on the Missouri Highway Patrol Troop A Twitter feed today. As they tell it, Corporal Kelly Hoover found a large turtle named Thomas on Rt J between Raymore & Peculiar, Missouri. The fact this happened near Peculiar, Missouri is appropriate.
What was a giant turtle doing near Peculiar, Missouri?
I'm glad you asked. Corporal Kelly Hoover realized quickly that this large turtle was someone's pet so she took him to Belton Animal Clinic & Exotic Care Center. Terrence Finn was one of the heroes who responded to the share on Twitter and alerted the patrol that there was a home that had large turtles in that area that frequently escaped.
