Illegal Immigration Protests have been going on in a few cities across the country this week. Los Angeles and Chicago have been at the forefront, but this weekend things are supposed to escalate in cities and communities coast to coast.

Major metro areas and college towns all are bracing for disruption. Not sure that Illinois Governor J.B Pritzker has the Illinois National Guard ready, but ICE says they may have their special response team activated in Chicago, while Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe has the Missouri National Guard on standby in case the protests spark into full on riots.

The Mo. National Guard have been activated in St. Louis protests in the past.

Recently street protests, especially the larger ones have turned into opportunities for anarchists to set things on fire and destroy property, whether public or private. Looting is often a by-product of these protests also.

“We respect, and will defend the right to peacefully protest, but we will not tolerate violence or lawlessness.” – Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe

Protests are planned for St. Louis, Kansas City, Columbia, St. Joseph, Cape Girardeau, Boonville, Jefferson City, Warrensburg, Marshall, Rolla, Springfield, Joplin, Kirksville, Maryville amongst others. Yes, the metro areas and the college towns.

If you are traveling this weekend in Missouri, just be aware of where these protests are going to be happening and know that streets (and maybe highways) maybe be occasionally blocked and impassable.
