According to Newsweek, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago was ranked among the best pediatric hospitals in the United States. The rankings recognized hospitals for excellence in specialties including Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology & Gastrointestinal Surgery, Neonatology, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, and Pulmonology.

How Newsweek Determined the Rankings

The rankings were based on several factors, including a nationwide survey of more than 10,000 pediatric medical professionals and hospital administrators, hospital quality metrics, and patient satisfaction scores. Based on those criteria, the Chicago-based hospital ranked fourth overall among the nation's top 50 pediatric hospitals.

Several other Illinois hospitals also earned spots on the list, including Lurie Children's at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Rush University Children's Hospital, and the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital, both located in Chicago.
