Twenty of the best aquariums in the country are competing for the title of “Best Aquarium,” and the reigning champion from Missouri is once again looking for your vote.

For years, I’ve wanted to take my family to the Johnny Morris Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium in Springfield. I’ve heard nothing but great things about it from friends, and once again, this popular destination is in the running to be named one of the top ten aquariums in the country.

Why This Missouri Aquarium Stands Out

The Springfield museum is not your typical aquarium filled with seals, dolphins, and fish from around the world. Instead, it focuses on hunting, fishing, and the connection between land and water. Since it’s attached to Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, it makes perfect sense that the aquarium highlights these important themes.

The space features 1.5 miles of immersive galleries and a 1.5-million-gallon aquarium. It’s home to more than 35,000 animals representing over 800 species.

Visitors can see everything from turtles and freshwater sport fish to zebra sharks. If you’ve ever been to this aquarium, you know just how special it is, and now you can help make it even more special by voting to make it number one again.

How to Vote for Best Aquarium

Now through May 11, you can vote for the Missouri aquarium to help it earn the top spot in the country. It’s up against some tough competition, including the Dallas World Aquarium in Texas, the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland, and Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.
