Missouri is lucky to have two amazing zoos in the state, but one is getting national attention for being one of the best in the nation.

Kansas City Zoo Best in Nation

The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium keeps growing and improving its facility. From adding a 650,000-gallon aquarium to the recently announced new giraffe exhibit in 2026, the zoo is becoming a one-stop, must-visit hot spot.

It's hard to pick the best of anything, but the zoos that I have visited (Kansas City, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Bronx, Omaha) are hard to choose which one is my favorite.

One of its notable features is the Australia exhibit, offering a glimpse into the continent’s unique wildlife, including kangaroos and koalas.

I am a little surprised that St. Louis was not on this list. It's a free zoo for visitors, they have updated several habitats throughout the years and have built so many wonderful places to learn about animals, but the Kansas City Zoo is also a prime place to visit animals and learn.

It may not be free, but it's worth a visit.
