Hannibal Ranks as 11th ‘Most Exciting Place’ in Missouri

Real estate website Movoto, which recently named several Illinois cities in our area among the safest places to live in the state, has now published its list of the "Most Exciting Places in Missouri." Hannibal ranked 11th place on the list, just behind Springfield and one ahead of Cape Girardeau. 

According to Movoto, the list takes into account the following criteria:

• Nightlife per capita
• Live music venues per capita
• Active life options per capita
• Arts and Entertainment per capita
• Fast Food restaurants per capita (the fewer the better)
• Percentage of restaurants that are not fast food (the higher the better)
• Percentage of young residents ages 18 to 34 (the higher the better)

Of the seven categories, Hannibal scored highest in Arts and Entertainment, where it ranked 3rd.

The Top 5 cities on the list were St. Louis, Rolla, Columbia, Kansas City and Branson.
