Following twenty three years broadcasting downtown in Quincy, I can share officially that the latest chapter in my broadcasting career is with Town Square Media and 979KICK-FM.

This will continue my trek within country music. I’ve also spent time on several formats in the past including years on rock radio and news talk.

I started out my broadcasting career in Sedalia, Mo. at KSIS/KSDL so it’s fun to have an in-house connection to those stations again and several people I’ve worked with in the past in different markets are now technically co-workers again (Drew Kirby – KWYY/Casper, WY., Derek Wolf – KXLB/Bozeman, MT., Noah Sherwood – KUSJ/Temple, TX.) which is cool.

The most fun however is getting to share a studio with Sam again. Sam and I have been on stations together before, so the learning curve for the two of us is zero.

What you’ll hear on-air is very much how we are with each other. We’ve done in studio and on location broadcasts together previously. There are even videos out there of the two of us doing food and beverage tasting, like summer wine froze, fluffer-nutter sandwiches, specialty flavored potato chips, fried twinkies and more. They were fun to make and more fun to watch.

Personally, it has always been my goal to make the station that I’m on sound bigger than it actually is. With the philosophy being- there’s no good reason that a station in a smaller market can’t sound polished and big enough that it would fit into a larger media market. That is my goal for 979KICK-FM too. Within the Town Square Media family this perspective (I believe) will be easier to achieve.

Thank you for tuning in, reading and following along my broadcasting journey. I look forward to many fun mornings together…(!!!)
