The Hannibal Board of Public Works picks an Arizona native as its new general manager.

BPW announced Thursday that Darrin Gordon will take over as the agency’s new General Manager August 2nd.

Gordon comes to Hannibal from Lewes, Delaware, where he was General Manager of Lewes Board of Public Works. Lewes is located at the junction of Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

Prior to joining the Lewes BPW, Gordon was the Assistant Utilities Director at Safford Municipal Utilities in Safford, Arizona and has held a variety of other increasingly responsible positions in the utility industry, including the completion of the American Public Power Association Public Power Managers Certificate Program.

Gordon is a native of Miami, Arizona. He holds a B.S. in Natural Resources Management from Arizona State University and a Master of Administration from Northern Arizona University.

Gordon’s selection comes at the end of a nationwide search conducted by the BPW Board of Directors.
