The Hannibal Board of Public Works and Douglass Community Services are partnering to assist Marion County residents who need help paying their utility bills because of COVID-19.

Officials with BPW report the allocation of $90,000 of CARES Act funds from the Marion County Commissioners to provide economic support through a utility assistance program to its customers.

Starting Tuesday, Douglass Community Services is partnering with BPW to administer the application process.

To be eligible for help, you must live or have a business in Marion County and have overdue utility bills dating back no further than March 1st.

If you need help paying your utility bills due to the impact of COVID-19, you can apply for assistance by calling Douglass Community Services at 573-221-3892.
