Two Missouri Aquariums Named Among Nation’s Best
The votes are in, and not one but two Missouri aquariums have made the list of the best in the nation.
2 Missouri Aquariums Named Among Nation's Best
After weeks of voting, USA Today has named the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station (#4 on the list) and Johnny Morris' Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium (#1 on the list) in Springfield as the best aquariums in the nation for 2025.

I have yet to experience the St. Louis Aquarium, but I've heard amazing things about it. One day, we plan to visit Johnny Morris' aquarium too. Although they're miles apart, visitors love both so much that they voted them among the best in the nation.
St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station
The St. Louis Aquarium features a massive 250,000-gallon shark tank where rays and sharks swim together. There's also an interactive pool where you can touch stingrays and horseshoe crabs. Learn more about Missouri and Mississippi River wildlife as you walk through this amazing facility.
Johnny Morris' Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium
The Johnny Morris Aquarium reigns supreme as the number one spot to see incredible wildlife. This experience features a 1.5-million-gallon aquarium with over 35,000 animals, including zebra sharks, sea turtles, and freshwater sport fish. You can even see a historic boat once owned by Ernest Hemingway.

What surprised me about this list is that Shedd Aquarium didn’t make the cut. It usually does, and I love Shedd Aquarium, but it’s not on this top ten list for 2025. That’s not going to stop us from visiting this summer when we head to Chicago.
