WalletHub released a list called 2023's Healthiest & Unhealthiest Cities in America, and they ranked St. Louis as the 40th healthiest city in America! St. Louis is the highest-ranking city in Missouri, but the ranking doesn't look at EVERY single city in the state. On the site they say...

"To determine which areas prioritize residents’ well-being, WalletHub compared more than 180 of the most populated U.S. cities across 43 key indicators of good health. Our data set ranges from the cost of a medical visit to fruit and vegetable consumption to the percentage of residents who are fully vaccinated."

So of the 180 most populated cities in the US only 3 are in Missouri, St. Louis which ranked 40th on this list, beating out Kansas City which ranked 119th, and Springfield which came in at 121st on the list. So St. Louis is CONSIDERABLY healthier than its two western state mates. Why? St. Louis ranked 14th overall in the Fitness category, and 39th in Food, the only category St. Louis didn't rank highly on is the Health Care category coming in at 123rd on the list. It is hard to be a big city and be healthy, St. Louis should get some real credit for this ranking, it ranked higher than traditionally "healthy" cities like Long Beach, Riverside, and Oxnard all in California. Do you consider St. Louis to be a "Healthy" city?
