Where is Illinois on the List of the Most “Fun” States in the US?

WalletHub just released its list of 2023's Most Fun States in America, and the Land of Lincoln comes in at number 5 on the list! The only states MORE fun than Illinois according to WalletHub, are California, Florida, Nevada, and New York. How did they determine which state is more fun than the others? On the site, they say...

"We all define “fun” a bit differently, and ideally the place in which we live should cater to our personal ideas of entertainment...With pure enjoyment in mind, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 26 key indicators of a jolly good time that won’t break the bank. They range from movie costs to accessibility of national parks to nightlife options per capita."

Illinois ranks 7th in the Entertainment & Recreation category, and 2nd overall in the Nightlife category! Plus, Illinois is 5th for most restaurants per capita, and 4th in the Performing Arts Theatres per capita category. How does Illinois compare to its neighbors? OBVIOUSLY, Chicago has a lot to do with why Illinois is so high on this list, but I do think that Illinois has great state and national parks in the southern part of the state, as well as great little getaway cities like Grafton, Galena, and Quincy help, make Illinois as a whole, a more fun state than other states.
