What Will $1 Million Buy You in Hannibal?
I don't know if you've caught the billboards or light up signs hanging in gas station windows, but the Powerball total is north of $250 million. That's $154 million if you take the lump sum, and after both federal and Missouri taxes it comes out to $181 million and $109 million respectively. Put about $20 million away in Treasury Bonds, and you'll pull in over $600,000 a year in interest. So what are you gonna do with the remainder? Buy a house, of course!
Like this one, which is on the market, and clocks in at $990,000 (not including all the normal taxes, title, arm, fees, insurance and leg). But that's pocket change with the Powerball winnings you've got now.
If that's a bit too much for you, there are some properties over on Zillow that are much more reasonably priced like $786,000.
All I know is I have plans for several of those rooms. A music room for my records, a production studio, and an in home theatre.
