The XFL is coming back next spring, one of the 8 XFL teams will be in St. Louis, we now know what it will be called...

KSDK in St. Louis is reporting that XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck, former NFL quarterback and father of NFL star quarterback Andrew Luck, announced the names of the 8 XFL teams coming spring of 2020. St. Louis will have a team named the St. Louis BattleHawks, the XFL said the BattleHawks are "Winged warriors. Preparing for flight. Preparing to fight. They await their orders. Then attack as one. Diving, dodging, swooping, striking. Their mission: create chaos. Their mandate: win at all costs."

The other teams are the Dallas Renegades, Houston Roughnecks, Los Angeles Wildcats, New York Guardians, Seattle Dragons, Tampa Bay Vipers and D.C. Defenders. I am a total supporter of a spring football league and hope that the XFL has more success then the failed AAF from this past spring. While the NFL isn't showing St. Louis any love, hopefully the XFL will take off in the Gateway City. Follow me on Twitter @MarkHespen and Instagram @MarkHespen.
