I was fortunate enough to spend parts of two days in St. Patrick, Missouri last year. I met some of the nicest people I've ever met and learned a new appreciation for all things Irish and specifically the holiday itself.

The 56th annual Shrine of St. Patrick St. Patricks Day Festival takes place in the tiny town in Clark County, Missouri on Sunday, March 17. A schedule of events includes:

9 a.m.Coffee & donuts
9 - 9:45 a.m. Registration for 10 a.m. Leprechaun 5 K Race
9:30 a.m.Irish-American Songs- Roger Watson & Sons
10 a.m.Bingo
10:30 - 2:30 p.m.Tours of Church and  Museum
11:30 - 2:30 p.m.Roast Beef & Ham Dinner $9 Adults; $5 Ages 6-12
3 p.m.Conclusion of Novena and Catholic Mass

You can also get more information by e-mailing questions to info@saintpatrickshrine.com or find more online.

There's plenty of fun to be had other than what's on the schedule too. If you've never spent St. Patricks Day in the only town actually called St. Patrick in America, I highly recommend it.
