One Event Brings Local Wineries in One Spot

Get ready wine lovers! This weekend's Great River Grape Escape is the perfect place to taste wine from local wineries.

Eight local wineries will occupy Clat Adams Park on Saturday and Sunday to give patrons an opportunity to taste different wines from throughout the area. Here is a list of the wineries that will be at this year's event:

• Creekside Vineyards, Preemption and Coal Valley
• Hopewell Winery, Rockport
• Lake Hill Winery, Carthage
• Lavender Crest Winery, Colona
• Spirit Knob Winery, Ursa
• Vahling Vineyards, Stewardson
• Village Vinyard, Camp Soup
• West of Wise, Petersburg

The event will be this Saturday from 12:00 PM to & 7:00 PM and Sunday from 12 PM to 5:00 PM. Cost is $15 per person which includes a wine glass and five wine tickets. Additional wine tickets can be purchase for $1 each.

This is one of my favorite events to go to in the Quincy area. I bring my blanket and lawn chairs and just enjoy the day on the river drinking wine and enjoying time with friends. Food will be provided by The Abbey, but you may bring your own food as well (no coolers or alcohol though). There will also be entertainment throughout the day on the mainstage. I'll see ya there!
