Yelp ranked the best of the best in pizza for 2024. You may not be surprised that Illinois tops the list over New York (insert sad face). They say Pequods Pizza is not only the best in Illinois, but the best in the nation.
You can’t truly say you have a favorite Chicago-style deep dish pizza if you haven’t been to Pequod’s. They’re known for their caramelized crust.
I've had deep-dish pizza, and sure, it's good, but nothing compares to the deliciousness of NYC pizza. The large slices, the grease pouring down and getting on your clothes, the way you fold your slice to get the ooey, gooey cheese (I know, I know, cheese) in your belly—now that is pizza.
Yelp also mentioned that Dertiot-style pizza is getting a bit more attention than normal. I wonder if that has anything to do with their football team. Either way, pizza is that one food no matter where you get it, locally, Chaigao of New York it's delicious.
