Taste the OKTOBERFEST of Illinois Breweries on a Fall Road Trip
There are dozens of breweries spread out across the Land of Lincoln with their own versions of the seasonal brew treat called “Oktoberfest”.
Should you want to develop your palette, perhaps a road trip this fall traversing this beautiful state through the bright foliage to visit specific breweries and the brew hauses attached to them to taste the finer points of this German fest bier.
This time of year most everywhere has an Oktoberfest to serve you, however all the destinations on this checklist have developed their own versions.
It would be impossible to list all the potential stops that could be included for this lineup. There are scores of potential places to visit and loads more in the Chicagoland area. We’ll keep this list to “mid-down state” Illinois. If that isn’t clear enough, perhaps it will be once you’ve seen the pinpoints on our proposed brew trip map.

There are also some sudsy destinations in the deep southern part of Illinois should you want to venture in that direction. -Opera House Brewery in Hillsboro, Stubborn German Brewing in Waterloo, Shoehorn Brewing in Belleville or The Hop Brewery in Christopher.
