On Thursday, March 27, 2014, the Northeast Missouri Narcotics Task Force assisted the Marion County Sheriff’s Department with a traffic stop at the intersection of Paris Gravel Road and Hwy MM, Hannibal, Marion County, MO. As a result of the traffic stop Sarah Elizabeth Oswalt, 8064 Hwy MM, Hannibal, MO, was found in possession of a large amount of prescription controlled substance.

Oswalt was arrested at the scene, transported to the Marion County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold. The driver of the vehicle, Tyler L Rouse, 1100 W. New St, Palmyra, MO, was also taken in to custody, ticketed, and later released.

On Friday, March 28, 2014, the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Oswalt with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute (a Class B Felony). Oswalt has a bond set at $100,000.00 cash only. The warrant was issued and bond amount set by Associate Judge John J. Jackson. More arrests may be pending. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
