The Show-Me state has been blessed with lovely zoos of renown on both the east (St. Louis) and west (Kansas City) sides of the state. There is also the Dickerson Park Zoo in Springfield that is growing in size and stature. But, what about other areas of the state?

Shaquan Clarke’s Unruly Igzatiks mobile petting zoo to the rescue. Many people have dreamed of working with animals at the zoo, others have dreamed of having their own zoo. Shaquan is doing both and making his passion available to kids that may not have a chance to get to the zoo in St. Louis, Kansas City or Springfield.

Unruly Igzatiks doesn’t just give kids a chance to see animals that they would never run across in their day to day lives, but also provides an opportunity to learn and interact with the animals too. From exotic snakes and lizards to chinchillas and hedgehogs.

Clarke acknowledges that Missouri is quite liberal when it comes to laws and regulations about exotic animal ownership in state, but shares that each city and town has its own laws too. So, depending on where he sets up the mobile petting zoo, he has to bring only the animals that local regulations restrict him to bringing.

He’s got a defacto zoo of animals including kangaroo, exotic wild cats, an ostrich and more on his ranch in Warrensburg, MO. which he began for his own enjoyment, but teaching kids about the animals soon became a goal.
