Trying to find a safe place to live and raise a family isn’t the easiest task. Crime exists in every city and town, but if you’re looking for a starting point, like which state is considered the safest, a new ranking doesn’t put Missouri in a great position.

Missouri is Ranked Among the Least Safe States in the U.S.

Missouri might seem like a safe place to live, at least around here in the Tri-States, but a new report from WalletHub says otherwise. How Missouri Ranks State Safety

WalletHub looked at several factors to determine each state’s safety ranking, including personal and residential safety, financial safety, road safety, and workplace safety. Missouri ranked 43rd in road safety, and after driving through St. Louis and Kansas City more times than I can count, that’s not surprising. Honestly, I’d rank it closer to 50. People drive like they’re in a race out there.

Breaking Down Missouri’s Safety Rankings

The Show-Me State didn’t fare much better in other areas either, ranking 26th in personal and residential safety, and 27th in both financial and workplace safety. That said, if you’re considering moving to Missouri, a smaller suburb or rural town might be a safer choice.
