I’ll be honest, I didn’t even know this was a thing. Apparently, there are still 30 general stores from the 1800s that are still in business today, and believe it or not, Missouri is home to one of them.

Missouri Is Home to One of America’s Oldest General Stores

LoveFood rounded up a list of the oldest general stores in the country, and one Missouri spot immediately caught my attention. Because of its long history, the Old Village Mercantile has earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. It’s nestled in the charming town of Caledonia, which is known for its Scottish heritage, so the whole visit feels like stepping back in time.
