Missouri is home to the 6th Best Small Ski Area in the US
When I think about going Skiing I think about having to travel west to the Rocky Mountains, but apparently, Missouri has one of the premier Ski destinations in all of North America.
Let me start this by saying I have never been skiing, and frankly am scared to try it, BUT I do love the idea of a hot tub and a glass of whiskey at a ski resort. Nevertheless, I was pretty shocked to learn that the Show-Me State of Missouri is actually home to a premier skiing destination in the United States. The website called onthesnow.com claims that Hidden Valley Ski Area Ski Resort, which is located in Wildwood, MO just outside of St. Louis, is ranked the 6th best Small Ski Area in the United States and 6th best in North America, as well as being ranked the #1 All-Mountain Terrain in the state of Missouri. The website describes the Hidden Valley Ski Area Ski Resort as...
"Skiers and snowboarders enjoy a 310 foot vertical drop, beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain as well as a terrain park. The ski area has 100% snowmaking and lighting and a wonder carpet for beginners. Their 10,000 square foot ski lodge has a bar, cafeteria and retail options..."
I then went to the website of the Hidden Valley Ski Area Ski Resort and checked out what else they had to offer, if you want to learn more click here!
How cool is it that just about 100 miles away from us here in the Quincy/Hannibal area is one of the best ski resorts in the country, and I had no idea it existed! Since moving to this area a couple of years ago from Chicago, everyone has told me about Lake of the Ozarks, Branson, and KC but no one has ever mentioned the fact that there is a world-class ski resort in Missouri too! Did you know about it?
