2025 Top Missouri Inventions – Blood and Soap
Inventions come in all shapes, sizes, styles, and from most any industry. This year the Show-Me State delivered several new things in science and tech – and also for commercial use.

Researchers at the University of Missouri developed a method to change blood types to the universal type O. Type O blood, whether positive or negative, can be donated for any blood type. This project has figured out that there are gut enzymes that can remove A and B antigens from the blood cell’s surface. So, type A, B and AB can be changed to the universal type O. The Mizzou team has come up with 3D printing technique that allows for the process to be achieved without the gut enzymes. There will come a time when all blood can be treated as universal, and there will be fewer blood shortages.

Also in 2025 the old ways of the Ozarks were used to make Tunetti Natural Ozark Bar soap. A breast cancer survivor in Springfield, Missouri has dedicated herself to developing self care cleaning items that don’t contain products that are carcinogens. 100 percent organic products can be expensive though, so part of the plan is to make these organic Missouri products affordable. They have many types of bar soaps, skin care, personal care, and household products made from ingredients sourced from the Ozarks. An Ozark bar soap sample pack would be perfect for someone on your Christmas gift list.
